Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a rapidly expanding specialist manufacturing business based in Sheffield who are on the lookout for a Purchasing & Logistics Controller.
The role will primarily focus on Purchasing functions such as managing stock availability, placing orders, coordinating logistics, and assessing surplus stock. Additionally, you will extend support to the Planning team and assist the Planning and Supply Chain Manager to meet objectives and facilitate smooth workflow across the production cycle.
Responsibilities within Purchasing:
- Oversee inventory management for our UK & US subsidiaries
- Support with placing stock orders promptly and accurately
- Handle supplier enquiries
- Review surplus orders to minimise excess stock levels
- Manage logistics and shipping approvals to guarantee timely dispatch of shipments
- Analyse monthly requirements and meet targets efficiently
- Provide timely responses to sales inquiries regarding dispatch dates and ad hoc items
- Utilise Epicor system
Responsibilities within Planning:
- Release and prioritise works orders to maintain efficient production schedules
- Maintain tablet functionality within Netsuite for seamless operations
- Place works orders into Netsuite accurately and promptly
- Respond to emails promptly and professionally
- Update and analyse spreadsheets as necessary for informed decision-making
- Address queries from various departments
- Collaborate with departments to prioritise production
Candidate Requirements:
- Prior experience in purchasing/procurement or logistics roles
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Ability to prioritise tasks and adjust schedules based on business needs
- Strong time management skills, capable of handling multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a knack for building effective working relationships
