Duties and responsibilities:
- - Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, including the issuance of purchase orders, management of delivery schedules, and ensuring the prompt receipt of materials and services.
- - Proficiently interpret technical requisitions and engineering documents.
- - Identify and implement process enhancements to optimize procurement functions across Engineering, Production, and Finance.
- - Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, providing coaching to foster skill development.
- - Manage vendor performance, including the development of suppliers to support key performance indicator (KPI) achievements.
- - Take ownership of determining liability, disposition, and corrective action for supplier non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- - Conduct cost analysis in collaboration with budget costs and propose improvement recommendations.
- - Proactively build and share knowledge and skills about products and processes with the team, fostering continuous learning.
- - Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with internal departments on financial, commercial, technical, and quality matters.
- - Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with other departments, such as engineering, production, and finance.
- - Execute reasonable instructions and tasks from senior personnel in the best interests of the company, reflecting a proactive and collaborative approach.
Skillset Requirements:
- -Demonstrable Experience implement purchasing strategies within a manufacturing environment
- -Proven background managing teams within a manufacturing setting
- -Good understanding of MRP functionality
- -Able to manage a global supplier base
- -Good technical/engineering understanding to enable effective commercial decision making
