Duties of this position include;
- Develop and update current purchasing strategies to support the existing team members to optimise the day to day purchasing process.
- To work with existing suppliers & source new suppliers to satisfy new customer requests for factored goods.
- Develop the network of suppliers to meet current requirements, whilst building a close and positive relationship with current suppliers.
- To work alongside the Quality Department to resolve quality related issues.
- To negotiate best pricing and terms & conditions with suppliers as required.
- To ensure all purchasing duties such as supplier set-up, strategic ordering, ensuring parts are delivered on time in full and initial escalations.
- To build strong working relationships with key stakeholders within the business.
- Communicate and liaise with other departments within the business to provide best possible, pricing and supply of goods.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with other departments to monitor inventory levels to determine appropriate and cost-effective ordering of materials to minimise stock holding.
- Responsible for training and development of the purchasing team.
- Develop, maintain, and review supply strategies ensuring appropriate contingencies are in place to ensure supply is ongoing to maximise production efficiency.
- Undertake supplier visits and host supplier visits.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements within the purchasing function.
- Coach and develop direct reports.
Hours - 08.00 - 17.00 Monday to Thursday (08.00 - 12.00 Friday)
Salary - 38000 - 40000 dependant on experience
Location - Bispham, Blackpool
