Purchasing Manager

Our client who is a leading manufacturer of machinery for the food and FMCG sector and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Purchasing Manager.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract which may lead to a permanent position.
The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Director you will be responsible for the management and control of a Multi Million £ supplier spend and for the management of a small team of buyers.
Duties will include but is not limited to:

• Manage and control all purchasing and buying activities
• Develop sourcing strategies through market knowledge and analysis of internal and external data.
• Presenting recommendations and sourcing strategies to stakeholders.
• Work with cross functional groups to deliver effective sourcing strategies.
• Deliver effective supplier negotiation and robust supply contracts
• Measure and report cost reduction figures

Candidate:
Ideally, you will be an experienced procurement professional preferably with a background in the manufacturing sector. Applicants with previous experience in buying for OEM's or complex manufacturing companies will have advantage.
You will have excellent negotiation skills and should have relevant qualification e.g. CIPS You will have people management and communication skills.

Hours of Work:

Monday - Friday 37.5 hours
