Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Purchasing Manager for a specialist in rubber bonding technologies.
The Opportunity
Ford & Stanley Recruitment are working with a global provider in technologically advanced vibration control, rubber fabrication and bonding solutions on their search for a confident Purchasing Manager.
Motivated by solving problems and bringing a more modern and international approach to supply chain, the goal is to raise the performance of 2 manufacturing facilities within the group through strong decision making, solid experience of purchasing within manufacturing and an ability to inspire a change of attitude towards supply chain.
The role will be responsible for two direct reports, both new to the business, who are eager to learn and develop.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver the purchasing strategy, ensuring it meets stakeholder needs, in particular but not limited to Operations.
- Risk assessing, auditing and evaluating suppliers
- Responsible for control and implementation of appropriate terms and conditions with suppliers, alongside Legal team where necessary
The Candidate
This role will require the successful candidate to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty, implementing new strategies and processes to improve the performance of the procurement department.
Essentials
- Previous Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Confident to make a decision where appropriate but also be capable of working with the wider group and obtain approval where required.
Desirable
- CIPS level 5 or higher.
