We’re currently looking for a Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join the Score Group team based at our facility in Cowdenbeath.

About the role
Appointed by the QHSE Manager, the QC Inspector is a member of the QHSE Department reporting to the QHSE Team Leader. The QC inspector will be responsible for all visual QC inspection activities on manufactured components, manufactured assemblies prior to shipment, inspection of components on receipt and ensuring all relevant certification is present and correct.

Primary responsibilities
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions
- Ensuring all activities undertaken are in compliance with the SEL ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO 45001 Management Systems
- Provide support to all disciplines within the Company’s organisation.
- Provide support for Quality related issues
- Perform PDQR duties in accordance with applicable customer requirements and training
- Control of non-conforming product
- Review of client quality requirements to ensure compliance
- Review of completed job packs prior to dispatch to ensure that Score and customer requirements are satisfied
- Inspection of completed components prior to dispatch to customers.
- Undertake internal and external training to ensure job performance competency
- Adherence to company requirements in respect to health, safety, and environmental aspects
- Provide assistance in the continuous improvement of the company’s QHSE management systems
- Manage, monitor, and record calibrated measuring equipment.
- Completion of documentation relevant to work scope
- Perform internal audits against ISO Standards and carry out HSE inspections to ensure compliance
- Inspection of purchased certified goods to ensure compliance with the purchase order content, our customer’s requirements, and our certification requirements
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications
All of the below are desirable but not necessarily essential:
- HNC Mechanical Engineering
- SVQ Level 3 in Technical Support (Quality Control)
- Internal Auditor Course ISO9001 and/or AS9100
Experience
- Strong knowledge of management system standards ISO9001 & AS9100 (desirable)
- Experience in the use of measuring equipment (desirable)
- Familiar with pressure / flow measurement testing (desirable)
- Computer literate (essential)
- Previous experience in mechanical inspection
- Previous experience working in a role within a Quality department
- Previous experience working in a role handling technical information e.g mechanical fitter, machinist, welder, NDT technician, draughtsman
