Position Overview: We are currently looking for dedicated Children's Social Workers to join our Looked After Children's Team in Nottinghamshire. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and advocating for children in care to ensure they receive the highest standards of care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work support to children in care, including assessment, planning, and intervention to meet their needs and promote their well-being.
- Work collaboratively with children, their families, carers, and other professionals to develop and implement care plans that address their individual needs and aspirations.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children's circumstances, including their safety, stability, and developmental needs, to inform care planning and decision-making processes.
- Advocate for the best interests of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld in all decision-making processes.
- Monitor and review the progress of children in care, ensuring that their care plans are implemented effectively and that they receive appropriate support and services.
- Work proactively to support children's placements and transitions, including liaising with foster carers, residential providers, and education settings to promote stability and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working within children's social care, preferably in a Looked After Children's Team or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to children in care.
