Quality Assurance Administrator

RAL Space: Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Harwell, Oxfordshire

Salary: Band C £28,498 to £29,922 per annum (dependent on skills and experience).

Contract Type: Open-Ended

As the Quality Assurance administrator you will support the Quality Assurance team in the day-to-day operations of the Quality systems within RAL Space, ensuring compliance with standards and policies in place. You would assist in the follow up of internal audits and walkabouts, organisation and preparation for external audits, training sessions and internal quality meetings, action tracking and other general administrative tasks.

You must be capable of thorough and conscientious work to tight deadlines, adapting to changing priorities as the need arises. The work of the QA and Safety group involves liaison with multiple teams, so effective oral and written communication skills are essential when dealing with managers, engineers, and scientists within STFC and with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to a QA Specialist, the QA administrator will support the QA team with:

  • Scheduling and coordination of the internal auditing programme, arranging meetings with staff and auditors, preparing templates and updating audit tracking spreadsheets
  • Uploading and distributing audit and walkabout reports using the document management module of the Eclipse tool suite.
  • Preparing and reporting on audit actions and quality metrics
  • Creating and distributing actions using the Eclipse action item management module and sending reminders to action owners
  • Assist with the organisation and preparation of quality inductions and other training sessions
  • Creating and maintaining records and documents in Eclipse and SharePoint.

Person Specification

· Previous experience of working in an administrative environment using computerised data systems

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

· Organised and systematic approach to tasks

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team

· Evidence of effective time management and prioritization

· Excellent oral and written communication skills
