Job Title: Quality Assurance Assistant
Location: Melmerby, North Yorkshire, UK
Contract: Permanent / Full Time – Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00 (there is some flexibility)
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Quality Assurance Assistant to be an integral part of our quality function at the melmerby site. You’ll be at the forefront of pioneering quality initiatives, the role will also involve data analysis, conducting investigations, managing audits, and ensuring excellence in all aspects of quality.
The QA Assistant will proactively support and participate in the quality function within the site, working closely with the operations and technical team. Understanding the impact of processes on feed safety, the role involves tasks and procedures execution with the ability to deputise for the Quality Lead when necessary.
Responsibilities (Not Limited Too)
- Own and maintain process verification and analysis schedules.
- Support QC in addressing OUT of Specification results promptly, implementing corrective and preventative measures.
- Collaborate with suppliers to facilitate approval processes.
- Assist Technical and Procurement in collecting data and quality information on raw material performance.
- Take ownership of complaint investigations, root cause analysis, and agreed preventative actions.
- Actively participate in external audits
- Support HACCP implementation and compliance on-site
About you:
- Experience in data analysis, root cause analysis, HACCP
- Quality Control / Quality Assurance
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with TACCP – is desirable.
Additional Information:
Candidates with a background in manufacturing, particularly in the food or feed industry, we would also consider candidates who have a background in natural sciences, microbiology, nutrition or come from a laboratory environment.
