The opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to have the chance of joining a well-established UK engineering business located in Burghfield, Reading as an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer
The role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting internal audits, in accordance with the published project audit programme, and produce reports in relation to audit outcomes.
This role will be up to 6 Months
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Responsible for the provision of Quality related advice and guidance to the Project.
- Responsible for liaising with Project Quality Control inspectors to provide assurance that all Hold Points/ Witness Points are met in a compliant manner.
- Responsible for validating the implementation and effectiveness of Project corrective actions resulting from internal/ external audits.
- To promote a safety-first culture, conducting walk rounds and intervening constructively to highlight or challenge unsafe or perceived unsafe actions.
- Ensure quality performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against agreed KPIs.
- Prepare and review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans and supporting QA documentation.
- Liaise with all relevant Project stakeholders in relation to the preparation and submission of Project quality requirements and supporting documentation.
- Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as appropriate and liaise with Client s QA departments.
- Contribute to the improvement and technical capabilities of the Company.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
- Demonstrable, current knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems in nuclear or civil construction.
- Problem Resolution-Must have a good grasp of problem resolution tools and techniques and the ability to articulate their use in a given situation.
- Development of project QA documentation (Quality Plans, ITPs etc) and review of supplier QA documentation.
- Must have a full understanding on how to deliver internal audits of management systems and be able to communicate outcomes.
- Knowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques.
- The ability to understand and interpret ISO Management System Standards, technical drawings and specifications is desirable.
- Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands whilst meeting agreed targets.
- Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential.
- Good communication and report writing skills.
- +3 years experience working in a highly regulated industry (Nuclear/Oil & Gas/Aviation, Construction)
- Recognised and current Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 9001:2015).
It s great if you also have the following
- Minimum ONC/HNC in an Engineering discipline.
- Associate or Practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute or can demonstrate working towards it.
- Current security clearance (SC).
- Current CSCS Card.
