The role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will manage the Nuclear Business Unit (NBU) integrated surveillance/audit programme on a day-to-day basis and ensure the Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) actions are close out in a timely manner. You will also support the Assurance Department and Assurance team, in ensuring by oversight that the Submarine Dismantling Project (SDP) maintains a strong safety culture and performance and effectively identifies and manages risk.

Day to day, you'll:

• Represent Assurance and present an independent view on project processes, practices and governance to external Regulators and internal committees
• Design the annual surveillance schedule, ensuring that internal surveillance plan keeps to schedule
• Create the monthly audit metrics
• Support through effective assurance, oversight, challenge, and assessment, the Project’s Hold Point, Management of Change and Regulatory Commitment Processes
• Review of written arrangements plans to ensure alignment with current legislative, regulatory, contractual, and corporate business requirements

This role is full time, permanent position and will consist of a 37-hour working week. This role will be based on site 2/3 days a week in Rosyth with flexible hybrid working from home arrangements where appropriate.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Experience of the Quality Assurance Engineer

• A demonstrable track record of success in a quality, engineering, internal regulation, environmental management or Health Physics management position
• Understanding of requirements of business management regarding process, application and compliance
• Experience within Nuclear is preferred but not essential as candidates from similar externally regulated businesses will be considered

Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
