Management of the implementation of a quality management system and its effectiveness in meeting business, statutory, legal, and contractual requirements.

Engages with business stakeholders to manage compliance to requirements, supporting a resilient business that manages risks effectively. The role is a key enabler to change and business improvement.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivers delegated elements of an annual business plan to time and budget.
  • Manages and facilitates external certification audits.
  • Supports achievement of new certifications where appropriate.
  • Organises and facilitates internal audits in the audit programme.
  • Responsible for conducting audits and producing audit reports.
  • Undertakes investigations and root cause analysis of instances of non-conformance, including the identification of corrective measures and long-term preventative measures.
  • Is responsible for reviewing management system content for appropriateness, improvement, and implementation.
  • Participates in the identification of new systems and processes to drive efficiency.
  • Is responsible for ensuring information for quality reports is available, accurate and delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Is responsible to produce communication articles, plans and communication collateral.
  • Is responsible for contributing to all activities reported in management reviews, collating, analysing, and presenting data and key metrics.
  • Provides recommendations for action to mitigate risk and improve management system effectiveness.
  • Provides support to business development activities.
  • Is responsible for the development and delivery of training.
  • Monitors performance of a supply chain, including support to suppliers as appropriate through training, guidance, and audits of their QMS capabilities.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:

  • Good knowledge of management principles and operational controls through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience in development and implementation of tools and techniques in an operational environment.
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of current industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience in carrying out 1st and 2nd party audits.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication at all levels, with excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Results driven.
  • Stays on task to completion particularly in the face of obstacles.
  • Maintains impartiality and takes a pragmatic approach when evaluating evidence.
  • Prepared to challenge and question.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Educated to HNC / HND or country equivalent as a minimum, ideally in an industry related subject (or equivalent).
  • Good IT skills in Microsoft office.
  • Ability to use industry recognised standard software systems.
  • Similar Quality Assurance focussed role experience.

You’ll also have:

  • Experience implementation of digital control tools.
  • Understanding of key project controls and processes such as design, procurement, tendering and project delivery.
  • Understanding of outsourced business models.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001.
  • NVQ Level 4 in an appropriate subject (or equivalent).
  • Membership to a related professional organisation.
  • Lead auditor qualification (or equivalent).
  • Ability to learn quickly and adopt new IT skills.
  • Data analysis.
  • Work from their own initiative.
  • Showing leadership and working with others.
