We are seeking an experienced Quality & Compliance Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of regulatory compliance, particularly focusing on the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, within our residential care home. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our commitment to providing exceptional care and supporting us on our journey to an ‘outstanding’ rating.
This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills with the ability to implement and manage effective compliance programmes.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- CQC Compliance: Ensure adherence to all CQC regulations and standards, regularly reviewing policies and procedures to guarantee ongoing compliance.
- Quality Audits: Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, producing comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders. Review and monitoring of incidents, accidents, safeguarding notifications and formal complaints.
- Assess and monitor competency checks are being carried out in line with policies and procedures.
- Training and Education: Support training to staff on compliance-related matters, promoting a culture of awareness and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. Conduct regular risk assessments related to data protection and privacy.
- Policy Development: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and update the residential care home policies, with a specific emphasis on GDPR requirements and in line with regulatory changes and best practices and maintain existing documents. Work in collaboration with senior managers on plans and documents such as:
- Business plan
- Emergency plans
- Major incident plans
- Compliance training plans
- Inspection Preparedness: Coordinate and collaborate with Registered Managers in preparation for CQC inspections.

Essential
- Proven experience in a similar role within a regulated setting.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex compliance issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to ensure compliance goals are met.
- Detail oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy in documentation and reporting. Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret regulations and ensure organisational adherence.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate potential compliance risks and take preventive actions.
- Ability to adapt to changes in regulatory environments and proactively update compliance processes.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering a commitment to excellence in care delivery.
Desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge in GPDR regulations.
- Strong understanding of health and social care policies and procedures.
- Experience in leading and contributing to cross-functional compliance initiatives.
