Purpose and Scope of Role
- Carry out regular in process and finished goods QC inspections throughout Bottling, Case/Carton Assembly and Cased Goods Warehousing production processes.
- Assist in the development and improvement of QC inspection procedures and techniques.
- Liaise with Operations regarding quality issues.
- Identify areas of defects and non-conformance and report as they arise.
- Liaise with key suppliers in the event of quality issues and help coordinate necessary inspection/rework activities as required.
- Raise internal and supplier non conformances using Q-Pulse in accordance with our Quality Management System requirements.
- Perform internal Food Safety throughout Springburn as directed and assist in developing correct Quality & Food Safety procedures and work practices.
Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for in process and end of line quality checks in Springburn plant and recording if inspections in Harford.
- Ensure quality assurance process are followed – local and global
- Actively participate in food safety practices, support internal departments to fully adhere to current practices
- Ensure quality issues both internal and external are communicated with in a timely manner.
- Ensure Quality actions, Non-conformances, Supplier Non-Conformances, Complaints, are recorded and actioned on time
- Sharing and adoption of learning from other facilities (internal and external benchmarking, etc.).
- Fully support any change in process or product, this includes New Product Development
- Assist in developing and delivering Quality & Food Safety training to process operators.
- Attend operational and quality meetings as required
- Assist with incoming inspection if and when required.
Key Skills And Competencies
- Knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000)
- Knowledge of HACCP and its application.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate defect issues to suppliers
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques
- Familiarity with GMP standards.
- Familiar with Risk Assessment tools and techniques.
- Ability to read and understand Global and local procedures and communicate these to operational areas
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Good interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships cross functionally.
- Experience in supplier management and defect analysis / reporting (verbally and email)
- Demonstratable IT skills – excel, word, outlook – additional bonus if familiar with SAP and Q-Pulse
- Diploma in relevant field or equivalent 5+ years’ experience preferred.
- Food & Beverage industry experience preferred.
