Quality Control Inspector
Job Specification
Pay Rate: £12-13 per hour
Working Hours: 9-5 Monday to Friday
Location: Crewe
Reporting to: Lead Quality Engineer
Overall Job Purpose as a Quality Control Inspector:
To carry out inspection and function testing of raw materials, and of both bulk and finished goods for release to the supply chain and to the customer.
To support the QC function with investigations, following a material or product failure or Customer Complaints.
Key Responsibilities as a Quality Control Inspector:
- Carry out the function testing of raw materials and inspection of bulk product and finished goods against agreed specifications and test methods, to ensure the items pass the acceptance criteria.
- To record the results of that testing/inspection appropriately, on the relevant document.
- To input and record that information on to the Quality databases. In addition, to file the signed records in readiness for inspections and audits.
- To communicate to other departments the outcome of the results and provide accurate feedback of any issue that is seen during the inspections, maintaining the integrity of any samples that display the issue, for use for feedback to Medtrade and to the relevant Supplier.
- The role will be split between office and suppliers, in order to complete some of the above tasks. And to carry out any other reasonable requests, including overnight stays, to support the Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions.
Education/Experience (Preferred):
- QC background with an emphasis on Inspection.
- Medical background with an understanding of medical devices.
- An understanding of Lean Improvement, including Project Experience and an understanding of Specifications and Dimensional Drawings.
Competencies/PersonaISkiIIs/Behaviours:
- Must have full clean UK driving license.
- Must be a strong team player and have good interpersonal skills with people across the business and suppliers.
- Good communication skills both written and oral, strong organizational skills.
- Must have good attention to detail, with the ability to compose accurate reports, and complete documents & records.
