About the role:

We are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time Quality Control Scientist I based in Manchester. The QC Scientist I will support the Quality Control and manufacturing team and will be responsible for performing Quality Control testing on a variety of DNA based In Vitro diagnostic kits and components to demanding quality specifications. You will also raise and contribute to the resolution of CAPA within the company's QMS (Q-Pulse).

Key areas of responsibility:

• Perform and document appropriate in-process testing for all items manufactured by Yourgene Health
• Perform and document appropriate Stability Testing of released components
• Liaise with appropriate departments to contribute to the rapid and effective investigation of process quality problems and for the development of improved QC tests.
• Adopt a cross functional approach through regular liaison with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure decisions testing is completed in line with the manufacturing schedule.
• Liaise with appropriate departments to contribute to the rapid and effective investigation of process quality problems, i.e. CAPA and for the development of improved QC tests.
• Contribute to process improvement programs and troubleshooting through the performance of non-routine operations and reporting of data.
• Maintain any relevant proficiency testing, calibration or validation work, that may be appropriate to the QC sphere of activities, as defined in Company Quality System

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• HND / Degree in an appropriate Biological Science.
• Quality Control experience in an GMP / ISO13485 laboratory environment.
• Experience of the use of ABI thermal cyclers and genetic analysers.
• Experience of DNA extraction and quantitative analysis by spectrophotometry.
• Experience of OOS investigations and CAPA resolution.
• Strong pipetting skills.
