Job description

The job itself

The outcome of the council’s Total Pay and Reward review means the full-time salary for this position from 1st April 2024 will be £43,421 to £46,464. The salary will be pro rata for part time and term time vacancies.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Development & Monitoring Officer to join our Contract and Quality Assurance Team.

The postholder will work with our independent care providers to promote the delivery of good quality, safe services that focus on person centred care, promoting independence, dignity and choice.

We are looking for someone who can empower others to achieve and maintain high quality care and support care providers to be sustainable and compliant with the Council’s contract. You will need to have an excellent understanding of the adult care sector and the standards required to operate effectively.

You must be able to build positive relationships but also have the skills and confidence to respectfully challenge failing or unacceptable practice where appropriate. You will need to be able to identify issues in care delivery, broker solutions and be able to reflect back to the service their areas of strength and weakness.

You will also need to be able to support registered managers and be prepared to work alongside staff in a care setting to observe behaviour, model good practice and support improvement in the spirit of partnership working.

You will enjoy a varied role that will continue to evolve and develop. This will include undertaking improvement and contract assurance visits, writing comprehensive reports and improvement plans, attending meetings with other professionals, and participating in wider duties of the team.

The role requires the ability to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to identify, coordinate and deploy support.

You must have excellent communication skills, the resilience to work under pressure and be flexible in your approach.

You will also possess good IT skills.

You will be able to travel around the authority.

If you are interested in becoming part of this evolving service and you are passionate about ensuring vulnerable adults in the East Riding receive the best possible care, we look forward to hearing from you.
