Quality Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000
Location: Wolverhampton
Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (1 pm finish on Fridays)
Hours: 39 hours per week

My client is a leading provider of precision production, finishing, and stock holding services, catering to a wide array of industries. Their operations are head quartered in a state-of-the-art facility spanning over 100,000 sq ft in Wolverhampton, complemented by additional production and warehousing units to ensure seamless and timely deliveries.

In response to evolving customer needs, they've expanded their capabilities to include machining, cutting, drilling, punching, and sub-assembly lines. Recent investments in long-length machining lines have significantly boosted their presence in the aluminium extrusion market, while also reinforcing their strong position in the flat rolled market.

You will be joining a dedicated team of 7 professionals.

• Comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings
• Proficient in using measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers, height gauges, shadow graphs)
• Experience in drafting work instructions for new products and updating existing ones
• Knowledge and experience of ISO9001:2015 standards

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Methodical approach with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to interpret ISO standards for product tolerances and compliance
• Contribution to technical aspects of New Product Introduction meetings
• Document control for engineering drawings and work instructions
• Experience in a CNC machining environment
• Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software
• Experience in completing corrective actions, 8D, etc.
• Handling customer and supplier complaints
• Calibration, both internal and external

• Experience with CMM and Faro arm
• Background in aluminium extrusion
• Knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing
• Familiarity with TS16949 and AS9100 standards
