I am currently looking for an accomplished Quality Engineer for a global automotive manufacturer based in mid-Wales
As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for quality deliverables within product launches, supporting feasibility studies whilst reviewing Bills of Materials as and when required
You will also be required to: -
- Implement quality control plans and procedures specific to materials used in the automotive industry.
- Utilise various tools and techniques to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and production, to address quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Analyse production data, quality metrics, and customer feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Participate in the development and validation of new products, ensuring adherence to quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
- Perform supplier audits and assessments to ensure the quality of raw materials and components used in automotive manufacturing.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects, utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Kaizen to optimise processes and enhance product quality.
Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject, you will have a strong automotive manufacturing background as you will need to ensure that all of the work practices throughout the business are completed in accordance to IATF 16949 & ISO14001 procedures
Working to industry standards (ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949 etc), you will be proficient in quality tools and methodologies, such as statistical process control, FMEA, root cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques – ideally in the creation of PPAP to TIER 1 suppliers / OEMs, whilst supporting the Engineering Team with APQP.
