TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Colchester based secondary school in need of a Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher. The school has an amazing track record of providing high standards of excellence for students, having an Outstanding rating by Ofsted. The school is looking to take on an enthusiastic and driven Design & Technology (D&T) teacher on a long term basis, to start ASAP. The successful applicant will be working across both key stage 3 / KS3 and Key stage 4 / KS4 and must be able to motivate their students through engaging and dynamic learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to a diverse range of learners.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall improvement of the department.
- Actively participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider school community.
Qualifications:
- A relevant degree in Design & Technology (D&T) or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Design & Technology (D&T).
- Demonstrated experience as a Design & Technology (D&T) at the secondary school level (experience at Sixth Form level is advantageous but not essential).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay current with educational best practices.
