In order to ensure that Quality Improvement is ‘the’ method we use, we recognise the need to significantly increase the team so that, through close working also with partners across Bolton locality, we can focus our improvement journey on key organisational and wider locality themes.
The post holder will have a key role in the delivery of our organisations improvement ambitions, directed by the Quality Improvement Plan.
The QI Project Manager works closely with the Quality Improvement Lead and QI Programme Manager and in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and individual staff members to ensure delivery of effective and efficient programs to drive continuous quality and safety improvements in healthcare service delivery.

The QI Project Manger is The face of QI in the organisation, and often the first contact for staff on their improvement journey, managing the communication and engagement function of the QI Team, whilst being responsible for the day to day management of Quality Improvement Projects through excellent interpersonal and project management skills, including the core elements of project planning and initiation, stakeholder engagements, project plans, regular reports including data and risk management.
The post holder is also responsible for the event management and promotion of the QI Team activities, including arrangement and hosting of trust-wide improvement collaboratives, a schedule of training and coaching events – elements of which the post holder will be expected to deliver to teams and individuals themselves, particularly coaching teams with their Improvement Projects.

Be the key liaison/communication link between the Quality Improvement Team, the wider organisation and beyond, acting as an advisor for improvement queries, working closely with the QI Leads and Programme Managers to drive forward trust-wide Quality Improvement.
Frame and implement departmental level improvements e.g. link to BOSCA – supporting front-line teams with the opportunity to identify and contribute to Quality Improvements within their own area of work.
Foster networks and positive working relationships to promote the work of the QI Team, whilst working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to proactively identify opportunities for Quality Improvement.
Provide leadership in the project management of QI activities e.g. project initiation and engagement, setting timescales, milestones and risk management to overall successful project completion through the use of strong QI project management governance framework.
Responsible for the management of the communication and engagement strategy/plan for the QI Team e.g. events, website, promotional material, newsletters and other forms of communication across multiple sites.
