Quality Inspector

Currently looking for a Quality Inspector for a contract in Kidderminster.

Currently seeking an Aerospace / Defence Quality Inspector to support on a contract (37 hours per week) in the Kidderminster area.

Job Description:

• Responsible for carrying out inspections of parts and assemblies to drawing and process requirements across site on any project.
• Completion of minor reworks / touch ups to make product complaint.
• Spot-checking of operators to confirm operator compliance to the MM.
• Raise non-conformance forms if required and inspect /Approve rework.
• Manage own workload, liaising with the relevant cell leaders to identify and complete inspections in a timely manner.
• Generate, Collate, update, and maintain and complete FAIR using Visual Fair as requested.
• Creation and Management of CMM Programs, Probes and Software updates.
• Problem solve CMM errors, issues, collisions.
• Operate CMM machines in line with business needs. Use LK machines and Camio.
• Create inspection methods for underdefined or non-standard inspections.
• Follow business procedures and processes adhering to relevant paperwork.
• Responsible for personal health and safety within the business.
• To Mentor or teach new inspectors, knowledge sharing for progression potential within the team.
• Conduct Audits where requested i.e. Flash, Internal, supplier.
• Additional duties or tasks as requested by the business requirements.

Qualifications:

• Essential
• Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Desirable
• Internal Auditor AS/EN9100 trained.

Experience:

• Essential Experience
• Quality inspection within a manufacturing/engineering industry.
• CMM operation/programming.
• FAIR generation and collation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Problem solving skills.
• Desirable Experience
• Experience of using root cause analysis tools (8Ds, 5 Whys etc).

Security checks and clearance will be needed before candidates are able to start. Prior or current SC Clearance would be highly advantageous.

This role falls inside IR35.
