Quality Inspector Assistant – structural steelwork fabrication (Quality Assurance, Quality & Environmental Assistant)
We are delighted to be recruiting an individual with experience in steelwork fabrication to join a very robust and successful engineering business in a Quality Inspection/Assurance role. The successful candidate will support the Production Management team and the SHEQ Manager to support the process of quality control within the manufacturing/fabrication workshop.
Quality Inspector Assistant duties include:

• Carry out inspections of fabricated steelwork to ensure quality standards are met and adherence to company procedures are complied with. (welds, painting etc).
• Keep/log records of inspections.
• Provide guidance to company suppliers and/or sub contractors to ensure they comply with required standards.
• Participate in the training of new team members to ensure they understand processes and procedures.
• Investigate errors that are flagged by the site/construction teams to identify the issue and communicate the information with the aim that the same issues with be avoided in the future.

Quality Inspector Assistant requirements:

• Experience working in a Quality Assurance / Quality Inspection type of role previously is essential. (at least as part of a previous role).
• Experience working in the steelwork fabrication sector is highly advantageous.
• Basic understand of painting, welding and the ability to understand fabrication drawings.
• Good communication skills.
• Be computer literate (Microsoft word, excel, email etc)
• Live in/within a commutable distance of Derby.
