Quality Inspector

£11.39 per hour

8am to 5pm Monday to Friday

MAIN PURPOSE

Project Delivery is a dynamic, in-house operation specializing in delivering the Housing Executive's Planned Scheme Improvement programs in a competitive environment. We are also responsible for inspecting and reporting on Planned Scheme Improvement projects and adaptations for individuals with disabilities.

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in maintaining the quality and compliance of construction projects. Your responsibilities include inspecting, recording, and reporting on various construction stages, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, materials standards, and workmanship quality. You will maintain detailed records and communicate findings to the Contract Administrator/Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date electronic Project File, including weekly reports, emails, photographs, minutes, certificates, drawings, and relevant site information. Maintain a daily diary to monitor site activities.

  • Inspect construction works at various stages, preparing electronic reports on compliance with Executive Specifications, Statutory Regulations, workmanship, and materials.

  • Immediately notify the Contract Administrator/Project Manager of any non-compliance issues, including urgent Health and Safety and Welfare concerns, with a particular focus on dangerous breaches.

  • Perform general measurements of works as needed or requested by the Project Manager.

  • Communicate inspection findings, including Health and Safety and Welfare issues, in a comprehensive electronic Weekly Report, accurately reflecting all site findings.

  • Keep the Contract Administrator/Project Manager informed through email and phone communication, particularly regarding any deviations from the proposed works or aspects that could lead to Compensation Events.

  • Accompany the Contract Administrator/Project Manager during the works Handover Process, completing all Handover paperwork in a timely and accurate manner for further action.

  • Record and file information using both mobile technology and desktop computers, adhering to the Organization's File Plan and IT policies.

  • Fulfill any other duties relevant to the role and commensurate with a TL2 Grade as required.

  • The post holder must be computer literate and familiar with relevant MS programs. Access to transportation for carrying out job duties is essential.

Person Specification

Experience and Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

Applicants must provide evidence by the closing date for application that they meet the following essential criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Technical/Construction Discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in construction maintenance

OR

  • BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification in a Technical/Construction-related discipline with 3 years’ post-qualification experience in construction maintenance

OR

  • Demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning and at least 4 years working within a project delivery function.

For the purpose of shortlisting, candidates must demonstrate their relevant required experience in all of the following:

  • Creating technical reports and effectively communicating findings both verbally and in weekly reports.

  • Interpreting data and managing technical information to enhance performance and delivery.

  • Applying relevant policies and statutory requirements to make informed decisions aligning with contract and organizational needs.

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure technical compliance.
