Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.
Position Summary
Shorterm are currently looking for a number of experienced Quality Inspectors for a number of roles in Manchester. Ideally we are looking for individuals with Rolling Stock experience from either an overhauls, maintenance or modification background.
The successful candidates will be supporting the overhaul team and the production managers in delivering rail vehicles back into service fault free after the overhaul activities have been completed.
During the process the Quality team will support a very busy Train Depot ensuring that the vehicles are delivered to the very highest standard, undertaking Quality Inspection activities from Goods inwards to the facility, build / assembly line support to final checks.
You will be required to form NCR reports and spot defects. You will be asked to the raise defects with the required departments to ensure they are rectified and ready for sale. Your documentation must be organised and clear with detailed reports on all inspections ensuring that all vehicles are compliant with current regulations.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
Responsible goods in checks
Responsible for NCR reports
Route cause analysis to understand trends and improvements within the process
Organise documentation the in line with the checks and completed work
Liaise with Production Manager or Team Leaders on issues or faults
Build relationships with overhaul team
May be requested to speak with the customer regarding different vehicles
Enthusiastic, keen to impress and progress
Person Profile/Experience:
Previous Rail experience is preferred but not essential.
Quality control experience is a must
Technical engineering background is essential for this role
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (5's, KPI's, etc.)
Experience of Health and Safety environments
Computer literate
Good communication skills
Experience working in a pressured production environment
Experience of Rolling stock is preferred however not essential
Qualifications:
A formal qualification is a must
