Engineering Quality Manager

Location: Bristol

Shift : Day shift

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 per annum

An opportunity to join a highly respected engineering business in Bristol has arisen, my client is looking for a skilled Quality Manager to join their successful team locate djust off the M32.

The successful candidate for the role of Quality Manager will lead the business's Engineering’s Quality department and will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining their Quality System (QMS) to AS9100, driving their product and system conformance. The Quality Manager will be relied upon to use initiative and sound judgement to ensure and assure continued compliance to our customers’ and industry requirements, as well as internally and with our Supply base.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Ownership of all Quality Management processes including QMS documented information (AS9100), Business Process integration and Ownership Engagement, FAIR/PPAP, Audit (internal and external), Inspection, Metrology & Calibration, Non-Conformance and Root Cause investigations.

ï‚· Development and implementation of processes to meet requirements across the organisation.

ï‚· Providing clear leadership, direction, expertise and coaching in our Zero Defect ambition across Problem Solving aligning to AS9100, AS13001 and Sabre4.

ï‚· Customer liaison and presentations.

ï‚· Providing clear leadership and coaching to the Quality Team, ensuring continued compliance to the requirements of the companyBroadway QMS

ï‚· Collaborating the Senior Leadership team and with other stakeholders to create, develop and implement the company Strategy

ï‚· Collating & analysing data resulting in improvement projects and programmes that eliminate waste and non-conformance.

ï‚· Achievement of process improvement targets.

ï‚· Leading continuous improvement processes and initiatives across the organisation with the ability to train teams in LEAN and SPC tools as required.

ï‚· Working alongside Production and Supply Chain leaders in driving down problems and issues that affect product quality metrics (customer complaints, internal reject rates, concession rates etc.)

ï‚· Ultimate responsibility for all Product Quality from supply chain to delivery of parts to customers

ï‚· Supporting external Customers with any quality related concerns and direction for all quality interaction with customers, suppliers, and statutory/regulatory authorities

ï‚· Efficient and effective QMS change process and traceability, running an effective internal auditing process.

ï‚· You may be required to work alternative hours as required by the needs of the business.

ï‚· You may be required to perform any other reasonable duties/specific projects from time to time and as directed by management.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Experienced in forming, leading and developing quality teams

ï‚· Proven ability to drive improvement projects to fruition; root cause analysis (3C, 8D, 5W etc)

ï‚· Significant Quality and Engineering sector experience, with a relevant professional qualification (BSc, BEng, MSc)

ï‚· Strong understanding of AS9100

ï‚· Strong understanding of Aerospace FAIR and concession requirements

ï‚· An approachable manner and able to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally ï‚·

Strong inter personnel and relationship building abilities

ï‚· A hands-on approach and ‘get it done’ attitude

ï‚· Knowledge of machining processes

ï‚· Good understanding of Aerospace manufacturing processes

ï‚· Practical application of SharePoint and O365 applications as a QMS tool

ï‚· Understanding of airworthiness and regulatory approvals and processes

ï‚· Understanding of Aerospace/Aeroengine Customer systems, processes and Quality systems

ï‚· Able to use/familiarity of ERP systems
