Trinity Business Support are seeking a Quality Manager (Structural Steel) for our prestigious facility near Bolton.
We are seeking a highly self motivated individual with a fantastic detailed oriented personality to join our clients facility. In this role you will play a critical role ensuring all Structural Steel products are adhering to British / EU / International standards and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
You will work in tandem with the various departments from quality teams, productions teams and other departments to maintain an efficient quality control procedures and excellence throughout the manufacturing processes.
You work closely with client representatives and ensure all requirements are met within the documentation and products required.
You will also be responsible for external audits both at subcontractors and external suppliers.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist various departments in developing, implementing and maintaining an effective quality management system for all steel products.
- Conduct in-depth inspections and audits of raw materials, in-process products and completed goods to ensure all goods are in compliance with British standards BS EN 1090 & NSSS.
- Complete thorough non-conformance management via our in-house system
- Review and undertake investigations on no-conformance reports (NCRs) to identity root cause of quality issues
- Initiate and track CAPAs (Corrective And Preventive Actions) to address non-conformances and prevent future recurrence
- Ensure you have an organised and accurate record of all NCR’s and CAPA’s for external and internal audits.
- Analyse non-conformance data to identify trends and potential systemic issues
- Proactively engage with departments and recommend process improvements to reduce non-conformance rates
- Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits by notified bodies
- Stay updated on all relevant British standard and regulations
- Through the application of Six Sigma methodologies contribute to any continuous improvement of quality management
- Provide the production and other departments with technical support and guidance on all quality matters.

- Qualifications:
- Engineering background or related field, With a focus on quality management
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within a quality control role within the Structural Steel industry or similar industries
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with British Standards BS EN 1090, BS EN 3834 & NSSS
- Strong knowledge and use of Six Sigma methodologies and experience in applying them
- Great analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and person skills
- Ability to work well in a diverse team
- Proficient in MS programs and quality management software
- It is required that the successful candiate will e qualified in the following;
Technical or Quality qualifications at HNC level
Desirable:
- Paint applications & inspections. Minimum level 1 qualifications.
- Welding and fabrication of Structural Steelwork (RWC) qualifications
- Implementation and maintaining welding management systems in accordance with BS EN 3834
- Welding inspection and or NDT qualification
- Lead auditing (BS EN ISO 9001)
