Job description

Our client, a Mental health & Wellbeing Charity, works across the community to support positive mental health and wellbeing. Working closely with a range of partners, they offer a number of activities from their wellbeing centres and local venues to make a difference to the mental health and wellbeing of people in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes, and their aim is to make sure that no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.

Hours: 37 Hours per week, Full Time (Mon – Fri)
Contract: Permanent 
Salary: £34,000 per annum

About You and the Role 
This role will work closely with, and be part of, the Senior Leadership Team driving forward compliance to support the delivery, development of safe high quality mental health services. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A proven track record of quality management, managing multiple service functions
  • Experience of developing and leading a team to deliver against organisational targets
  • Experience working within internal and external quality frameworks and leading improvements in quality.
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day application of relevant legislation e.g. Health and Safety, Data Protection, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and HR Practices etc.
  • Knowledge of and empathy for the issues facing people with mental health problems. 

Key Responsibilities

  • To enable the Head of Operations to ensure Health and Safety compliance, promoting a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.
  • To ensure compliance of the environmental policy and monitoring progress of the environmental action plan. 
  • To enable the Head of Operations and wider Safeguarding team to monitor and record key themes and ensure ongoing compliance with Safeguarding legislation and best practice. 
  • To be responsible for the polices monitoring document ensuring all polices are in place and reviewed and issued within the agreed timescales. 
  • Contribute to the drafting and updating of policies, pertaining to job role and responsibilities, ensuring adherence to a consistent approach throughout the organisation.
  • To be the Data Protection Officer taking responsibility for all activities relating to Data Protection and security in line with organisational policies.
  • To manage under the direction of Head of Operations the complaints and H&S accidents and incidents in accordance with organisational policies.
  • To act on the outcomes of investigations of incidents, accidents and complaints.
  • To develop a suitable mechanism to ensure that compliments are logged and celebrated
  • To lead, line-manage and develop direct reports through supervision, appraisals and performance management to optimise their effectiveness and fulfil their potential. 
  • Champion meaningful lived experience involvement in all areas of quality and compliance by managing the influence and Participation Lead department and involving them in the development of new processes and systems which impact directly to those this charity supports
  • To work with the Head of Operations to develop this organisation's impact monitoring and reporting capabilities.
  • To monitor this charity's continued compliance with all elements of their affiliation Quality Mark; liaising with colleagues to implement identified improvement actions. Leading on the 3-year review process. 
  • To support Senior Leadership Team on their commitment to digital by creating a strategy by evaluating what is working well and where they could be doing more.
  • To lead on audits of processes and systems as identified by the Governance, Quality and Performance Committee.
