Due to retirement, we are now recruiting for a hands-on Quality Manager. You will lead and manage the Quality and Compliance function. With a strong Quality focus and emphasis on managing all aspects of the customer queries and quality systems, ensuring site-wide compliance with related BRC as well as ISO 9001 standards, backed by a practical grasp of internal and external auditing procedures and protocols.
Role Overview:
• Review and improve the quality of working practices and processes on-site and actively pursue any opportunities to improve.
• Oversight of Health & Safety procedures.
• Manage Internal/External Audits, specifically with respect of ISO, BRC, and accreditation ensuring site activities meet the requirements of the standards.
• Leading and driving ongoing continuous improvement activities across the department, with a view to reducing complaints, anticipating audits, and maintaining zero accidents.
• Assisting in the management and consistent attainment of 'On Time and In Full’ performance targets.
• Working closely with the operations team to ensure Training and Revalidations are up to date as mandated by BRC and ISO standards.
• Stand where relevant and act as a final escalation point for the site on all compliance matters in the absence of the Operations Manager.
• Oversight of Internal Audit Schedule and corrective action to drive compliance to all required standards.
• Manage adherence to product Certificate of Approval process driving compliance on all inbound and outbound material.
• Work with the Supply Chain & HQ team to deliver improved Supplier.
• Ensure the site is always at 'Audit Ready' status.
• Represent the Quality Department within the Site Leadership Team, playing a full part in the delivery of the site strategy and budget.
• Help develop a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across the site.
• Continuously develop own knowledge on best practices, networking with colleagues throughout the organisation and keeping abreast of industry and legislative developments.

Qualifications/Experience/Technical Skills:
• Have experience with BRC.
• Proven capability to lead cross-functional teams in terms of problem-solving, process improvements, and solution implementation.
• Trained Auditor with a history of practical application.
• A working knowledge of ISO 9001, BRC backed by a practical grasp of internal and external auditing procedures and protocols.
• Working knowledge of HACCP-based risk assessments.
• Fully qualified Internal Auditor (Preferably lead auditor)
• Competent user of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
• Experience in developing and managing quality systems and audit processes with previous experience of BRC, and ISO standards.
• Previous experience in Print/packaging/ industry is a distinct advantage.
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues verbally and in writing and understand technical, and production terminology.
