What will I be doing?
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a team of supplier quality engineers specialising in Special Processes to deliver business goals while maintaining compliance and driving continual improvement in our supply chain and in-house production.
  • Develop and deploy team of quality engineers
  • Lead site activity to maintain site NADCAP accreditations including internal audit schedule and managing PRI audits
  • Support development of improved processes taking into account industry best practises and Safran core values
  • Represent the team and discipline within Quality and site management groups
Using your prior knowledge of Special Processes (Heat Treat, NDT, Shot peen, Chemical Processing, Coatings, Grinding, etc), evaluate, select and ensure ongoing compliance to new and existing Suppliers and In-house production.
  • Offer support during supplier selection and new program launches
  • Conduct Investigations and formally report findings within Safran and to our Customers using standard quality tools such as 8D, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement Techniques (QRQC, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc)
  • Ensure efficient / effective closure of RCCA
  • Involvement in FAIR / DVI reviews and approvals, incorporating APQP
  • Promote and use Lean principles in all Special Processing activities
  • Knowledge of Safran specifications / procedures an advantage
  • Review and approve manufacturing data
  • Update and maintain Quality databases and Sharepoint sites

The successful candidate will bring experience of both Special Processes and people management. This role will be both technically and business focused, working closely with Subject matter experts to define Quality standards, exception management processes, and escalation processes as well as ensuring all systems / databases are managed with updated information as necessary.

Job requirements

What do you need from me?
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Lead Assessor qualified
  • ISO9001, AS9100 and NADCAP experience essential
  • Capability to become a NADCAP self auditor and Safran approved auditor in at least one special process commodity
  • EASA Part 21 / 145 desirable
  • Green / Black Belt desirable

  • Experienced team manager or supervisor with the ability to grow team capabilities and represent the function

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all level of stakeholders
