ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Quality Technical Manager – Metrology you’ll forge key partnerships across the business to deliver automotive engineering dimensional measurement and analysis, in addition to driving the dimensional excellence for all of the vehicles within our product range at Bentley Motors.

This is an exciting opportunity where you’ll be able to utilise your collaboration, analysis and problem solving skills.

Bentley Metrology can measure all areas of the car from the smallest engine component to the complete vehicle. These measurements are carried out in 3 areas of the department focusing on: Single part measurement service to all areas of the business, Meisterbock and Cubing process to mature parts and sub-assemblies to a nominal property and Complete vehicle measurement service focusing on factory problem solving. These activities culminate in the dimensional maturation of parts through the project phases and are maintained throughout series production.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Delivery of high impact projects; responsibility for planning and managing related activities, reporting status to management, working cross-functionally to deliver project requirements.
  • Dimensional measurement and complex analysis of parts, properties or vehicles; measure, assess and create measurement reports, interrogate fitment process to understand the complete overview of the system.
  • Analysis of problems – provide root cause analysis via collecting, managing and analysing data to produce analysis reports for business partners
  • Steering and driving of dimensional excellence within Bentley Motors to improve internal quality performance and customer satisfaction.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will hold an Engineering degree and experience solving dimensional issues or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience carrying out measurement activities and the use of measurement tools
  • Basic knowledge of CAD and engineering based software such as Catia and KVS
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering cross-functional long term projects on time and budget
  • Management of problem solving activities including the running of technical workshops
  • Capable of presenting complex analysis to senior management to influence decision making
