As a Quality Technician, you will assist in ensuring and maintaining a quality and customer focused culture within the organisation by developing and working closely with all processes and procedures and the relevant personnel in line with requirements outlined in, BS3632:2015, ISO9001:2015 and any specific additional requirements outlined by our customers.

The work will involve undertaking regular inspections of construction work to monitor progress and quality, verifying compliance with drawings, specifications, warranty standards and Employer’s Requirements, identifying discrepancies, preparing written reports with supporting photographs. The work will also involve close liaison with internal production team, Contractors, suppliers and customers to review and advise on quality.

Key Tasks:

  • Be a quality point of contact within JANS Modular
  • Inspect the builds during progress and on completion to ensure that it has been constructed in line with the drawings and specifications
  • Ensure that inspection and relevant tests are carried out in line with the inspection build phase standards at set intervals of the production process (from incoming inspection to final dispatch)
  • Organise snagging throughout the builds, liaise with the production team to rectify
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve non-conformances and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Updating of quality metrics/KPI’s
  • Create/maintain quality standards and records for the relevant departmental products and processes
  • Carrying out and completing audits to an agreed schedule
  • Other administrative tasks as and when required

Essential Skills and Experience

  • +3 years’ experience within a quality inspector/technician role within a manufacturing/construction environment
  • Experience in creation and maintaining of quality SOP’s and records
  • Experience in Leading/facilitating Problem solving activities to completion with corrective and preventative actions in place.
  • Experience in disposition and reporting of Non-conforming Product/material
  • Inspection and testing experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organisation, including suppliers and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point)
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • There may also be a requirement to visit manufacturer’s factories/yards therefore a full driving licence is required.

Desirable criteria:

  • Having knowledge and experience of various forms of construction and ability in undertaking inspections of building works in progress.
  • Have experience and knowledge of current building regulations
  • Experience and knowledge of Document control
  • Experience of working with or within ISO9001, 14001 & 45001 requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience in facilitating root cause investigation and subsequent corrective actions
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Willing to continue to learn and develop your knowledge ensuring it is relevant and up-to-date
  • Be comfortable working as part of an existing team
