We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to work on a permanent basis for a global engineering company. The role will initially be based in Wythenshawe, Manchester, before moving to Wigan permanently in April 2024.
Salary is £24,160 per annum plus 26 days holiday and bank holidays, company pension, large company benefits.
As a Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the full scope of operational Quality Assurance, contributing to the continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015 accreditation).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct Goods-Inwards inspections of purchased products and production components, adhering to a system-driven scheme against detailed Quality Plans.
- Support Quality Assurance in Production Operations, aligning with documented procedures and control mechanisms.
- Process Customer Returns efficiently.
- Utilize quality tools such as IQCA, 8D, PSDM as appropriate.
- Perform metrology work and create associated ISIR documentation.
- Generate and maintain IQCA documentation, ensuring proper quarantine and inventory control of non-conforming products/components.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks as instructed by Quality Leadership.
**Key Results/Objectives:**
- Achieve KPIs associated with HQ and internal Quality Target Agreements.
- Maintain ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.
- Execute inspection tasks promptly and effectively, contributing to excellent customer service.
- Consistently deliver outstanding customer satisfaction.
**Requirements:**
- Solid knowledge of ESL product portfolio in support of the role.
- Understanding of the deployment and maintenance of Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
- Familiarity with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
**Qualifications:**
- Recognized IT diploma, such as ITQ Level 2 or equivalent.
**Skills/Competencies:**
- Experience with MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- SAP experience and usage.
- Proficiency in 8D reporting, IQCA reporting, and continuous improvement methodologies within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret product/component specifications and drawings.
- Competence in using basic metrology equipment such as Vernier, Micrometer, and Optical projector.
