As a Collections and Exhibition Assistant, you will assist the curatorial team and Collections and Conservation Manager in all collections management and exhibition tasks. You will play a vital role in the installation and de-installation of all exhibitions and displays, and you will also assist the curatorial team on documentation and collection cataloguing tasks. You will regularly check the Environmental Monitoring system and ensure that the annual IPM programme is maintained.
You will undertake regular store checks to ensure all equipment and storage environmental control systems are working, and collections are safe. You will assist with exhibition preparation tasks such as checking and preparation of objects in liaison with the Collections and Conservation Manager and the curatorial team. You will prepare mounts for objects, assist with location updating tasks and undertake any other relevant duties as necessary.
A degree in Conservation, Collections Care, Museum Studies or Technical Conservation qualification will be highly desirable.
