Job description

Main Duties and Responsibilities To assist the Radiologists/Radiographers/Radiology Nurses during patient examinations in the Radiology Department working within the scope of department procedures and practices. To be responsible for the care and comfort of the patient whilst in the Department and throughout their examination. To prepare and assist with general and specialised procedures. To train in cannulation and maintain adequate competence in it. Communications To liaise with and maintain good working relationships with other disciplines of staff within the Trust and the Directorate. To maintain a high standard of communication with all patients/ visitors/external organisations to the Radiology Department and Trust. To communicate effectively with patients and carers providing an appropriate level of support particularly where there are barriers or difficulties with understanding and tact. To receive Team Brief monthly and attend monthly Departmental staff meetings when possible Keep up to date with all internal communications (trust, division and department memos, e-mails, newsletters, team brief). To report any breakdown or malfunction of equipment immediately to the relevant manager across Radiology. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
