We have an exciting opportunity for a Radiotherapy Assistant (HCA) to join our Radiotherapy team. Based at The Duchess of Devonshire Wing (Cancer Centre) W1G 6JA, with a competitive salary range of £27,143 - £31,000 on offer, dependant on skills and experience.

The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is The London Clinic’s dedicated award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, and chemotherapy suites as well as 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients. With the latest advances in surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy, our expert consultants work closely with nursing teams to look after patients throughout their journey. We treat an extensive range of cancers, from breast cancer to rare tumours such as thymoma, and our purpose-built haematology unit is equipped to provide hemotherapy, immunotherapy and both autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants.


The London Clinic radiotherapy department uses the world’s most up-to-date technology to provide the most advanced treatments possible for our patients. The radiotherapy equipment includes GE CT scanner, the CyberKnife® robotic radiosurgery system, and two Varian True Beam Linacs.


Job Profile


As Radiotherapy Assistant (HCA) you will support the radiotherapy Service through the undertaking of tasks not required to be performed by HCPC registered staff members such preparing a patient for treatment and being the first line of contact for patients and carers providing emotional and physical care.

Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: The attractive salary range for this role is £27,143 - £31,000 (inclusive), and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Shifts: Monday -Friday

Key Duties

  • Support qualified staff by the organisation of appointments and associated tasks and services.
  • Organise patients and coordinate bladder filling
  • Provide a meet and greet service for patients and carers.
  • Assist and support the radiographers the rest of the radiotherapy department as and when required.
  • Undertake stock and safety checks

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of customer service environment.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment.
  • Awareness of customer service and patient confidentiality
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills including written verbal and telephone
