Job Summary:
Irlam Associates are excited to be recruiting for Ramp/ Baggage Agents for one of their prestigious client at Heathrow Airport!
Working as a part of team you will support the team leader to ensure all baggage, mail and cargo is loaded into the aircraft using in-plane loading systems and terminal baggage belt systems. The ramp team assist with the aircraft towing and pushback operations, and work closely with the cargo operations as well as other ground staff and HM customs to ensure flights are loaded safely for take-off.
Essential Requirement:
-Fluent spoken and written English.
-MUST HAVE LIVED IN THE COUNTRY FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS (IMPORTANT).
-Must possess a FULL CLEAR UK driving licence (No points)(IMPORTANT).
-Safety driven with the ability to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
-Must to be able to provide a 5 years checkable employment /education history for referencing.
- Must be willing to apply for DBS / criminal record check.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload baggage from aircrafts and transport it to designated areas
- Sort and distribute baggage to the appropriate flights
- Ensure that baggage is handled safely and securely, following all safety protocols
- Operate baggage handling equipment, such as conveyor belts and tugs, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist passengers with any questions or concerns regarding their baggage
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a ramp/baggage handler or in a similar role is preferred (not essential)
- Ability to analyse and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely handling of baggage.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting and distribution of baggage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, as required.
Hours of Work:
-Shift pattern: 6 on/ 3 OFF
3x Early & 3 x Late, 3 x OFF (full time seekers 4.30am early start and late finish 11.30pm, part time seekers 5.30am early start and late finish 10.30pm)
- Both days and late shifts are mandatory for both fulltime and part time seekers
- Full time (8hours) and Part time(4hours) working hours available.
- Must be flexible to work as per the client's provided roster/rota. Working days and hours cannot be selected.
- Weekly pay (every Friday)
- Overtime opportunities,
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
