Overview

The PepsiCo Global Foods R&D Advanced Ingredient Sciences (AIS) Function Department enables PepsiCo’s commitment to meet Pep+ goals for a spectrum of foods across the globe. This department leads breakthrough research & development programs that deliver actionable, unique, and incremental technical enablers for our multi-billion dollar foods category.

This position will lead the enablement of technical solutions for replacement of artificials, reduction of sodium, sugar, sat fat, among other Pep+ goals in the foods category. This individual contributor role will include hands-on projects, but also working through external partners and others within PepsiCo. This role is based in Plano, TX and reports to the R&D AIS Function Director and be joining a group of highly skilled technical leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills by utilizing engineering and scientific methods to develop knowledge that creates business opportunities that support the PepsiCo’s strategic objectives.
  • Work effectively & in collaboration with global cross-functional teams - Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Operations (including third party manufacturing) - and R&D discipline partners to commercialize new technologies.
  • Partner with other R&D leaders to develop a pipeline of technologies that deliver against business-relevant needs.
  • Apply Technical & Business Governance processes effectively from feasibility through scale-up/post-launch by leading the identification, assessment, validation and commercialization of process technologies
  • Provide technical risk assessment and mitigation plans related to process development.
  • Lead overall project agenda including: technical approach, setting timelines and budgeting.
  • Provide project updates to key R&D and cross-functional executive leadership.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
  • Education/Certifications: BS, MS or PhD. Degree in Food Science or  Food Engineering
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of food or beverage R&D industry experience.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across various stakeholder groups.
  • Proven technical development skills with strong sense of engagement while fostering diversity, inclusion and belonging within the organization.
  • Nurtures a culture of breakthrough innovation and ideas where failure is acceptable, and learnings are encouraged and celebrated.
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively manage complex projects or multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically & internationally.
