R&D Chemist

Reed Scientific is working with an innovative and ambitious manufacturing company, based in a beautiful rural town located in Somerset, formulating and supplying agrochemical and biostimulant related products used in several industries globally.

You will be joining the business during an exciting stage and contributing to their research and development. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated research chemist/materials scientist to join their busy technical group, based within their Innovation Centre, as the team continues to grow with new projects on the horizon. You would be helping to push forward their R&D effort bringing novel products to market with increasing need for new types of applications.

Duties include:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new chemical products.
• Conduct experiments, analyse data, and optimize formulations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Troubleshoot and address any product-related challenges.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.

What we are looking for:

• BSc/MSc in Chemistry, Material Science (or related science eg. formulation science) OR proven industry experience with chemical product development from concept to commercialisation.
• A background in product development would be an advantage, as would someone with an interest in biopolymers or sustainable polymer coatings. This could be from any related industry.
• Looking for a solution focused scientist, who is resourceful when converting ideas into practise and has strong analytical skills and good attention to detail.
• Enjoys the fast-moving dynamic of a small company and its collaborative spirit working on new projects.
