A global provider of cutting-edge corrosion protection and re-engineering solutions is currently looking to recruit a highly motivated R&D Chemist at their Leeds facility. Comprehensive laboratory experience in an R&D environment required as is HND/BSc degree in Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry or any other relevant science qualification.
You would play a key role as part of a specialist provider of products which help protect all kinds of industries from the harmful effects of corrosion, erosion, chemical attack and many other issues.
Offering an attractive salary up to £32,000 this is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled chemist with knowledge of coating or polymer technology and experience using laboratory test and or physical testing equipment.

The Role
As R&D Chemist you would undertake Research and Development work as advised from R&D meetings, with key responsibilities to include…
- The manufacture and testing of experimental formulations
- Generating and presenting R&D reports to senior management
- Ensuring full traceability with good record keeping
- Investigating customer complaints regarding product performance
- Liaising with raw material suppliers to obtain up to date information on current and new materials available to the formulators
- Adherence to Good Laboratory Practice Regulations, working in a safe and efficient manner

The Candidate
- HND/BSc degree in Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry or any other relevant science qualification
- Hands-on laboratory experience in an R&D environment
- QA Experience, you will provide cover for the Quality Assurance laboratory on occasion
- Knowledge/experience of coating or polymer technology.
- Experience using laboratory test and or physical testing equipment
- Flexible attitude towards unexpected changes in priorities and able to work well under pressure
- Good communication/interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail
