Role: R&D Junior Technician - Chocolate
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: £27,625 per annum plus excellent companywide benefits

Position Summary


Nestlé Product Technology Centre (NPTC) York is part of a global network of research centres, with our York site focusing on developing and delivering excellence in confectionery innovation and renovation worldwide for Nestlé. Our aim is to passionately lead the way in how chocolate confectionery and healthy snacks are developed, manufactured, and packaged. We have excellent opportunities for a R&D Junior Technician to join our chocolate innovation team at our offices in York. This really is a fantastic role that supports the R&D function to develop and deliver world class innovations across our Confectionery factories worldwide.
A day in the life of a R&D Junior Technician


As a Research and Development Junior Technician you will support in the execution, administration and follow-up of operational tasks in R&D. Your work will support specialists, project managers and experts on trials/tests in relation to innovation and renovation of products/processes/systems following relevant tools and programs. You will have a service oriented approach to enable the prioritisation and delivery o key projects.


Responsibilities include:


  • Delivery of operational and administrative tasks that provide valuable support to our priority trials.
  • Prioritize and manage own workload effectively to ensure agility.
  • Proactively support team members to efficiently execute key tasks and trials.
  • Compliance with practices and procedures defined by Nestlé Good Manufacturing Practices, Nestlé Good Laboratory Practices, Nestlé Integrated Management System and local regulatory requirements.
  • Follow up and share results and participation in evaluation of results
  • Safety, Health and Environment embedded into daily tasks.
  • Ensure material and recipe management in relevant systems and tools.

  • Practical experience within R&D and/or a factory setting is desirable (professional experience / apprenticeship).
  • Highly service oriented with a can-do attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of quality, safety and hygiene and environment requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A proven ability to effectively prioritise workloads.
  • Confident IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
