R&D Scientist
Outskirts of Tonbridge
£25,000 - £35,000pa + Bonus, Healthcare, 24 days holiday + BH, Pension
Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm
KHR are pleased to be partnered with a leading manufacturer with an excellent reputation for high-quality goods, who is recruiting an R&D Scientist to join their team on a permanent contract.
The key role of the R&D Scientist is to carry out research and development of potential new products and improvements to existing products and to provide product information to sales and to customers.
Responsibilities of the R&D Scientist:
- Carrying out feasibility assessments on projects
- Developing new products and improvements to existing products
- Troubleshooting production problems
- Testing products compared with competitor products.
(Mechanical Properties testing)
- Assist in controlling company research projects carried out in external institutions
- Writing of R&D reports for external auditors
- Stability and accelerated ageing testing of products
- Assist in the writing of design files for new or improved products
- Assessment of the marketplace and products competitive to the company's potential new products
- Assist in the production of technical literature and exposition of products to specialist audiences
- Purchasing laboratory equipment, supplies and services
- Helping to maintain the laboratory in a clean and tidy condition
Candidate Profile
- Chemistry or Chemical material science background in higher education
- Basic knowledge of the Medical Device Directive and Medical Device Regulations (desirable)
- Prior experience of maintaining/managing medical device files (desirable)
- Previous experience working within a production/manufacturing environment
- Good IT Skills with experience using all aspects of MS Office
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Methodical, accurate approach
