Readout and Reset of superconducting qubits are necessary for a fault-tolerant quantum computer, but these decoherence processes must be delicately balanced against the high coherence requirements of quantum algorithms. The Readout and Reset Pathfinding team within Google Quantum AI is responsible for developing Readout and Reset technology and integrating it into mainline devices. We work on the full research cycle, starting from the requirements of quantum error correction to inspire device concepts, through modeling, simulation, layout, measurement, and integration.
