Starting Salary: £23,114 progress to £23,500 pa
Hours:
Monday: 2.50pm – 9.15pm
Tuesday: 2.50pm – 9.15pm
Wednesday: 2.50pm – 9.15pm
Thursday: 2.50pm – 9.15pm
Friday: 2.50pm – 8.45pm
Saturday: 8.30am to 1.55pm
Contract:Permanent – term time only

Job Duties:
An exciting opportunity to meet families and young musicians who attend the Watford School of Music (WSM) for lessons and ensembles.
WSM is a large thriving and vibrant music centre. You will be the first point of contact for families coming to the centre and will help them on their musical journey in a friendly environment.
- Receiving pupils and parents and teachers to the centre.
- Responsible for answering the telephone and emails.
- Support any enquiries or queries as required answering questions relating to the centre and activities.
- Maintain the organisation of correspondence via phone, email, and face to face.
- Support with administrative tasks involved with the running of the centre.
- Upholding standards of safeguarding, health and safety and data security.
- To receive and process applications for pupils to attend music centre courses and exams.
- To be flexible and adaptable in tasks as required.
- Contacting customers to invite them to join ensembles. Processing new starters and leavers on the in-house system.
- Taking applications for music making days and exams, keeping up to date records in excel.
- Making signs to advise of room changes or teacher absences notifying parents as required.
- Contacting parents to find out why pupils are not attending lessons for teachers
- Ensuring the reception and staff room and all areas of the building are kept well maintained and tidy and acceptable for all visitors.
- Strong communication skills – professional approach to telephone and face to face communication
- Customer-focused attitude
- Able to multi-task and comfortable in a busy working environment
- Competent user of Microsoft Office software – particularly Excel / Word / Outlook / Teams
- Able to create programmes and flyers for centre use.
- Some experience or knowledge of music or educational environment would be an advantage.
Additional Information
You will be responsible for ensuring that all families, pupils and teachers have left the building at the end of the day before you leave and advising the site team that the building can be locked up.
This would suit an organised, personable, and capable individual who is comfortable dealing with members of the public and with children and young people of all ages and being part of a team.
