Our client, a beautiful historic hospitality venue are looking for a Head Receptionist to join their team on permanent basis. This is a full-time role with great many benefits and a friendly team. We are ideally looking for someone with hotel receptionist supervisory experience and someone who has managed a team before. The role would be better suited to someone who is currently a supervisor/ senior receptionist in a larger hotel or a Reception Manager/ Head Receptionist in a small hotel.
As Head Receptionist you will ensure the guests receive consistently high standards of service and maximum guest satisfaction throughout their stay.
The Head Receptionist will run the reception team (4 Receptionists & 2 Porters) on a day to day basis with the DGM having overall responsibility for Front of House.
Alongside the general responsibilities for the reception desk they will be required to ensure all team members are fully trained and competent in all tasks, completing rota’s, be responsible for H&S and complete Duty Manager shifts.
What will I be doing as Head Receptionist?
- Supervise and motivating the team to deliver and maintaining efficient standards of service to our customers at all times.
- Ensuring company operating standards are upheld at all times
- Carrying out on job coaching and training ensuring training records are maintained.
- Helping to monitor guest feedback and take any necessary actions.
- Implementing up selling techniques and monitoring room allocations in order to maximise revenue.
- Liaising with Reservations and Housekeeping departments
- Managing and monitoring rota's to ensure staffing meets business demand
- Assisting with holiday cover for Night Audit team
- Duty Management Shifts
As Head Receptionist you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Senior Receptionist in a quality hotel of a similar size or at Head Receptionist in a smaller property.
- Self-motivation and be able to motivate others to achieve through proven man-management skills, coaching and team building.
- Strong organisational skills and be able to implement, work with and monitor systems and procedures ensuring attention to detail at all times.
- Good understanding of all applicable health and safety legislation.
- Be IT literate - Microsoft Office, Opera PMS preferred
- An excellent command of written & spoken English and numeracy
Working 40 hours a week 5 days out of 7. During the summer months in particular they will be working most weekends with the early shift being 7am - 3:30pm and the late being 2:15pm - 10:45pm.
