Receptionist at River Academy
Salary: £23,500.00 - £23,893.00 Annually (FTE) – Actual salary £20,100-£20,436.
Part-time, permanent
37 hours per week, term time only plus INSET days
Due to the opening of our brand-new free school in Reading, River Academy, the opportunity has arisen for a welcoming, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our founding team. The successful candidate will staff the reception desk during school opening times and act as a welcoming face and point of contact for students, staff and visitors in person, by email and over the telephone. They will also undertake an administrative role, handling a variety of tasks quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner. This really is a unique opportunity to be involved with a school from the very outset, to work with the office manager to help shape our systems and processes and to build our reputation in the local community.
In the first year, the school will open to 187 students and this will rise to (phone number removed) students and an additional resource base of 35 students when full. In the early years, we are looking for staff who are willing to be flexible to support the needs of students, and other stakeholders, and to meet the operational needs of the school. This will provide excellent opportunities for staff to develop new skills and gain experience in a variety of areas. The role will initially be very varied, ranging from reception services to providing support with attendance and procurement. The responsibilities of the role will be reviewed on an annual basis in line with the growth of the school and as new posts are added to the support staff structure.
The successful candidate will be:
- Flexible in providing support and knowledge as needed and as the school grows.
- Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, administrative and IT skills.
- Able to multi-task and prioritise as required, while working with frequent interruptions.
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
