Telford College is set to play a pivotal role in the new hi-tech facilities of Telford’s ‘Station Quarter’, as it plans to launch exciting new opportunities in the state-of-the-art Skills Hub in the heart of Telford town centre. With a planned opening date for September 2024 we are looking for support staff to be based at the hub from June onwards, giving the opportunity to learn more about Telford College before the new academic year. Our Receptionist will be front facing to all visitors, staff and students and will be key to supporting this new and exciting project for the college.
- To undertake reception, switchboard and all postroom duties as requested by your Line Manager to ensure all services are staffed at all times, either at your initial place of work or at any other premises which the college currently has or may subsequently acquire.
- To be efficient and competent in all procedures with particular attention to fire evacuation, first aid, visitors on campus and head on duty processes.
- To ensure staff, students and visitors have badges, permanent and temporary and be familiar with the issuing process to meet the College’s requirement for safeguarding all its learners.

Qualifications and training
- GCSE Level for Maths and English is required
- IT level 2 qualification or equivalent is beneficial upon starting or a willingness to work toward in the first 12 months of employment.

- As the friendly face of our new skills hub you will greet guests with a cheery personality and exercise your customer service skills to give the best experience to all visitors.
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment and being adaptable is advantageous
- Representing the student service team you will act with integrity and a patient demeanour to all.
