Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.
At any one time, around 23,000 people in Norfolk and Suffolk are receiving care and attention from the Trust. We have a substantive positions within our Community Mental Health Team & Crisis Team both based at Hellesdon Hospital.

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and flexible administrator to support the changing needs and demands of our fast paced clinical teams, in a wide variety of administrative functions.


Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with an emphasis on team work. Ensuring a positive service user / carer experience is pivotal to the Receptionist / Data Clerk role.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Call handling, face to face liaison with service users, carers and colleagues alike, data entry, typing, scanning, uploading to clinical systems and other general administrative office duties.
  • Previous experience of Trust IT system (Lorenzo) would be of benefit but not essential as all training will be provided.
  • Previous experience of all Microsoft packages is desirable in the successful candidate.
  • Resilience to support in an administrative capacity to distressing / upsetting situations ensuring the best care to our service users / carers and families.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure within a fast paced reception environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


  • We are recruiting to 1.4 WTE Substantive Receptionist posts
  • Post 1 = 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday within the Crisis Team
  • Post 2 = 15 hours per week - Thursday & Friday within our North Community Mental Health Team.
  • The hours of work for both posts will be 9am to 5pm.
  • We have free on-site parking at Hellesdon Hospital.
