Apricus Resourcing are currently looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable Recovery Development Community Coordinator for a permanent position based from Liverpool with a charitable organisation. The purpose of the role is to provide support community assets, to people who are in recovery from mental health & drug and alcohol misuse, helping them to reconnect with their community, rebuild their lives and sustain their positive recovery progress.
Within your role as a development coordinator you will be assisting in the growth of the community. You will work to coordinate the continued development of the team, work with staff, service users & volunteers to develop a range of activities that may help to maintain recovery and develop the skills of those in recovery or suffering with mental health problems. You will also need to ensure that there are adequate opportunities for service user involvement, specifically within volunteering & help with the expansion of the range of opportunities for people with lived experience of addiction to support the development of local policy and local services.
The post holder will work as an inspiring, compassionate, and energetic person who will motivate and guide a caseload of service users along their recovery journey. You will help support with regular mentoring, one-to-one support, group activity and volunteering, to enable service users to develop the skills and community connections to sustain positive recovery.to reduce drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
Duties
- To lead the development of a recovery forum which will enable the voices of those in recovery to be heard and provide a platform which will allow service users to design services which affect them.
- To coordinate the delivery of recovery focused groups, mutual aid and structured programmes.
- To support the development of recovery networks.
- To build and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of professionals from partner agencies
- To oversee the development of professional, voluntary and peer networks which can help to expand the range of support and mutual aid activities our service users can participate in
In order to be considered for this role you must have experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with a range of stakeholders along with good administrative and IT skills and the ability to maintain records effectively. You will also need lived or learned experience of the common issues faced by people with alcohol / substance misuse problems & experience of working at a senior level within a recovery/similar role. Due to the nature of the position you will also need to be a car driver with access to your own vehicle.
