Job description

Paper Recycling Operative (yard based operation)

To support to the day to day operation of the Smurfit Kappa Recycling depot, duties to processing of material flows in and out of the depot in a safe and responsible manner.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform all daily and weekly checks on equipment.
To comply with all Smurfit Kappa Recycling Safe Systems of Work (SSWs) and Risk Assessments (RAs).
To operate all baling and sorting equipment including resolving any issues which arise.
Hand sorting material as required
To present material for sale. To ensure quality of all material processed.
To hand sort any material as required on sorting line or quality control.
To load and unload vehicles
To report any damage and/or breakdown of equipment to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner.
To undertake regular housekeeping and cleaning of machinery as required

Experience within the paper / recycling sector desirable
Experience with baling and storage desirable·
Positive, proactive approach·
Willingness to promote a positive health and safety culture and awareness of Site Rules with visitors and colleagues
